Jim Blanchard, PLS
President
Our benevolent leader, Jim Blanchard, graduated from James Kenan High School in 1959 and NC State University in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. His career began in Charlotte, North Carolina in the broadcasting industry.
After a successful side project plotting a deed and locating a tract of family-owned land, Jim’s passion for land surveying came to life.
He returned to Duplin County in 1972 to be closer to family and pursue his interests. That year, he began surveying under the supervision of Charles V. Brooks, III in Wallace, NC. In 1976, he made it official, becoming a licensed land surveyor.
In addition to his career, Jim has put his survey, electrical, and construction skills to use on mission trips to Honduras, Ecuador, Alaska, and Canada. He enjoys remodeling, working with computers, and spending time at White Lake. He and Peggy, his wife of 61 years, have three sons, Robby, Jimmy, and Steve. In 2023, Jim obtained his professional surveying license in the state of Mississippi.
